The Samira Bawumia Literature Prize is an annual literary prize for the best short fiction, poetry and non-fiction prose by young Ghanaians living in Ghana.
We are proud to champion the cause of developing and supporting homebred writing talent, through publishing opportunities, cash prizes, as well as publicity across print, radio and digital channels.
We believe strongly in the expression of self through writing.
The Samira Bawumia Literature Prize is a launchpad for aspiring Ghanaian writers to share their art with the world.

Eligibility
The Samira Bawumia Literature Prize is open to Ghanaians living in Ghana, aged between 18 and 30 at the time of the closing date.
Entries must be original and entirely your own work. Any evidence to the contrary will result in immediate disqualification.
Entries must not have been published, self-published, published on any website, blog, broadcast, have won or been placed (2nd, 3rd, runner up, etc) in any other competition.
Submissions should be written in English.
Writers are allowed to submit only one entry for this contest.
Previous winners of the competition may submit entries.
Entries submitted posthumously are not eligible.
